Patriotism

I'm not very patriotic. I don't love my country above all others. I would never fight for it, to defend it, ever. Not because I'm a pacifist but because I believe we should only fight for principles, and a country is not a principle. (Neither is religion for that matter; by definition a principle is not a dogma)
Apart from this, I do like when the portuguese football team wins... Is that contradictory?
A friend of mine said we become different people when we're competing for our country, for example. I guess it's normal that we feel good to represent a TEAM, we feel good when we win. But that has nothing to do with our country.
Don't get me wrong, I like living here, I'm lucky to have been born here and not somewhere else; I might not have the same opportunities. But that's it. I'm all for globalization (in this strict sense of having no boundaries!).
Urray!

ps: that's a friend I met in school, her name is Destiny. She works at night, after school :/
