What If?

There’s a point to everyone’s life in witch we ask ourselves “what if?”.
“What if it had rained?”
“What if It was the other way around?”

These two words have tormented for ages the mind of mankind. Genius are only such because they asked themselves time and time again, what if?
But be careful, for the question, doesn’t bring any answer attached, and many have suffered to the spells of its simplicity, unable to rise with a suitable answer.

yes, this simplicity-thing is really difficult. we'r doin' stochastics in maths atm, and this is, quite often, just simple - but i tend to think to complicated =(

and... i also tend to ask myself this question quite often, but not in a positiv way, as i have to admit. more in a negativ way, like "what if i had learned more? >.<"

To a box full of cookies:

Let me tell you a short story that my father tells me whenever I have an important math test.
It's called “The mathematician morning coffee”.
The math mathematician stars his day with a cup of coffee. And he does it like so:

He takes the coffee machine out of the closet, plugs it and puts it to work following the instructions.
In the next day, to make coffee the mathematician finds himself in a new problem. The coffee machine isn’t in the closet, so:
He unplugs the machine and puts it in the closet, so that then the only thing he has to do is repeat yesterday’s problem.

The end.

U see math is about simplifying until the answer seems obvious. Has it is everything that is called science. But people often distort this idea, and start to create ideas, formulas and paradigms just for the fame that it brings, giving nothing good to mankind or nature.
Wishing Best of luck too your Future Math, or whatever other science:

i try not to ask myself "What if?" too often just because life can't be based of that.
"What if" is wondering about, and that reveals itself (most of the times) pointless because it is not real. Therefore, you can ask yourself all kinds of questions, many of which you can not even answer but the truth is, that's not the smartest attitude.
The way i see it, you should rather try to analise the facts instead of wondering about ifs.

On the other hand, wondering is the key to evolutions..and once again, human-thinking ends up in paradox.
